The relations between Bangladesh and Japan have been good since the 1971 Bangladesh Independence movement, as Japan supported Bangladesh for getting independence. Ever since, there have been good trade relations too between Japan and Bangladesh. Japanese Used Cars have a great demand. Bangladesh is an important place for exportation of Japanese used vehicles. Around 80% of the cars on the road of Bangladesh are Japan imported.
Importation of used cars, jeeps, micro-bus, used minibus including other old vehicles and tractors are allowed under the following conditions:
- Vehicle should not be more than six years old.
- Importation of used vehicle should be done only from the country of origin. Importation of used vehicle is not allowed from any third country.
- A certificate issued by Japan Auto Appraisal Institute (JAAI) should contain age, model number and chassis number of the used car. That certificate should be submitted to the customs authority.
- To determine the age of the imported car, the date will be calculated from the first day of the next year of manufacture of chassis.
Marine Insurance:
This will cover the cost of the vehicle if the vessel sinks, catches fire, or destroyed totally during transit, cost of 'general average' cost of salvation, if vessel is rescued before sinking, cost of any parts stolen during transit.
Although Marine Insurance is not compulsory, it depends on the buyer.
Delivery Time:
Approximately 5-6 weeks depending on the vessel schedule
